Like the title says, I’m in the process of developing a classifieds plugin for wordpress which I plan to release under a GPL license. It’s about three-fourths of the way complete. I started it as a project for a client; but the client became impatient waiting for it to be completed and decided to go with another classifieds plugin. I’ve decided since I started it already I’ll just finish it and release it free because there aren’t very many free classifieds plugins out there and the ones I tried while looking for something for my client weren’t terribly impressive.
I’ll discuss the plugin in more detail over the coming weeks. I’ve just bought the domain for the plugin today but I’ve been working on it for about a month.
I’ve decided to call this plugin “Another Wordpress Classifieds Plugin” in keeping with what I named the first wordpress plugin I developed which was called “Another Wordpress RSS News Aggregator”. I never did release that plugin because I just didn’t feel like being bothered. Besides, I’m not sure I would want to contribute to the content theft problem that plagues the blogging industry by making it easier for people to scrape other people’s content. I’ve been a victim of the problem all too often.
In any event, I know you’re not interested in all that. You just want news about the plugin. Well, stay tuned. As I work on finishing up the plugin I will keep you updated.
