I’ve been on a ruthless bug hunt for the past week or so. I’ve fixed a number of issues brought up in the support forum. Thanks to everyone who brought those to my attention. The full list is available in the Changelog on WordPress.org.

In addition, I’ve added support for an often-requested feature: thumbnails in the Latest Classifieds widget. All this is now available in 1.0.6.15.

Download it now or use your auto-update in the Admin panel to get the goodness.

RSS Module Now Available

AWPCP is happy to announce the availability of the long-anticipated RSS module. You can now syndicate your classifieds and make them available in your users’ favorite RSS reader to drive more traffic to your ad site.

To use the RSS Module, you must have AWPCP 1.0.6.14 or higher. This release of AWPCP also includes some bug fixes for the Extra Fields module that were caused by the changes to the core plugin to improve compliance, as well as a change for those experiencing the POSIX function problem.

Bugs crop up all the time, but this one was critical enough to demand immediate fix and release. Version 1.0.6.13 released today clears up an issue with posting paid ads, where you saw “output” during the submit phase and no redirect to PayPal. Thanks to beattle in the support forum for finding it and letting me know!

Other minor issues addressed:

UI welcome text now allows for single quotes/apostrophes
Fixed issue with creating uploads directory on new install with ownership
Added function for PHP4 users (array_walk_recursive)

AWPCP Now Supports WP 3.0 + Category Ordering

After extensive testing, I can confidently say that there are no major issues with WP 3.0 and AWPCP. While working on this testing effort, I also ran into an unrelated issue with an up-and-coming plugin: Simple Facebook Connect by Otto. My plugin was out of compliance on standard WordPress shortcode usage and users of SFC were running into weird header issues with AWPCP.

Those header inclusion issues are now completely fixed and I am happy to say that AWPCP now complies with the shortcode API per WordPress standards.

In addition, due to popular request, I’ve added the ability to change the ordering of your categories. Now you’re not limited to alphabetic order. Check out Settings -> Categories for the gory details and enjoy!

Other bug fixes: You no longer see \\\\\’ for embedded quotes in posts (title, description, etc), fixed an issue with image uploading where the upload directory didn’t exist.

Please upgrade to 1.0.6.12 to get these fixes. Also, there is a NEW translation file available for this version as I had to reorganize the plugin’s structure to accommodate this fix.

Sorry for the rapid-fire releases, but 1.0.6.8 contained a problem where it wouldn’t update the internal version and failed to update the short codes in your admin panel to support the actual fix of $awpcpvisitwebsite appearing!

It’s fixed with 1.0.6.9. Also in this release is the new feature of the ad link showing up in reply emails so there is some context to go by when dealing with multiple ads.

Bug fix release 1.0.6.8 Released!

This release addresses a bug with some short codes ($awpcpvisitwebsite) that didn’t work.

Ad expiration notification email glitch

If you have notify of ads expiring checked in your classifieds Ad/Settings listing options please uncheck it.. There is a glitch that is causing hundreds of emails to be sent out to people with expiring ads instead of just the 1 email they are supposed to be sent. I would like to apologize to anyone who has experienced this problem. In the best interest of your business please turn this function off until the glitch is fixed. This is a glitch that has become present in version 1.0.6.2 and above. If you are using an earlier version you should not need to turn the function off but might consider doing so just to be sure the plugin does not spam your users with hundreds of emails and compromise the reputation of your business.

Bug Fix release – Version 1.0.6.6

Another WordPress Classifieds Plugin has been updated to version 1.0.6.6. 1.0.6.6 is strictly a bug fix release. If you are using version 1.0.6.1 and below and you did not plan to update you should not need to update as the bugs being fixed were created in versions released after 1.0.6.1.

The 1.0.6.6 update should fix:

Bug report – Customer attempt to pay for classified ad listing has failed
Admin ad delete bug- admin getting message “Problem encountered. Cannot complete request” when trying to delete an ad from the view listings management page.
Admin not being recognized and therefore receiving restriction warning: “You do not have permission to perform the function you are trying to perform. Access to this page has been denied.”

If you update to version 1.0.6.6 and you are still experiencing any of the above problems please notify via this post.

Category Icons Module Update

If you are using the Category Icons Premium Module for Another WordPress Classifieds plugin you need to send a request for the updated module if both of the below apply:

1. You purchased your copy before May 1st 2010

2. You are using Another WordPress Classifieds Plugin version 1.0.6.2 or higher
