There are options in the admin for you to set the correct path if the default does not work for your site. The instructions you've provided will actually not work for everyone because the location of the data is dependent upon their url structure. You only need to go to your admin page under Manage General Options-> SEO Settings, and fill in the correct path as it relates to your site. No need to edit any code.
