If you are still using version 1.0.6.1 please hold off on updating until 1.0.6.5 is released with the bug fix applied. The problem is being checked and a fix will be released as soon as possible. Again I apologize, particularly to those of you who are trying the plugin for the first time. This bug is brand new and seems to be affecting new installations. If anyone experiencing the problem wouldn’t mind doing so, please check your database to see if the wp_awpcp_ads table contains any ad data and post a comment to let me know. In the meantime I am working on the problem and hope to release the fix by end of business day Friday.

Previous versions of the plugin had a bug in the ad expiration that resulted in expired ads remaining in the system. A few people have upgraded and lost ads that had passed their expiration date. If you have your system set so that ads have an expiration date, when the expiration date comes the ads get deleted or disabled based on your settings.

If you have checked Disable expired ads instead of deleting them? the ads have been disabled. If you have it unchecked expired ads get deleted so if you had ads that were expired they have been deleted according to your settings.

Under Manage General Options->Ad/Listing Settings you have

Expire free ads after how many days? [0 for no expiry].

If you have a value set other than zero[0] free ads will expire according to that value. Paid ads expire according to the terms of the fee selected.

How I did this for slovenian language(and yes, is working…):

1. set “define (‘WPLANG’, ’sl’);” in wp-config file (instead sl use your code)
2. create .mo file and rename to “AWPCP.mo” (important – UPERCASE!)
3. put AWPCP.mo in to “another-wordpress-classifieds-plugin” directory

This is what I did for my norwegian translation, and it seems to be working:

1. Activate language settings in database (not sure this is required):
UPDATE `[database name]`.`wp_awpcp_adsettings` SET `config_value` = ‘1′ WHERE CONVERT( `wp_awpcp_adsettings`.`config_option` USING utf8 ) = ‘activatelanguages’ LIMIT 1 ;

2. Create a .mo file from the downloaded .pot file and put it in wp-content/plugins/awpcp directory calling it AWPCP-nb_no.mo

Thank you to Jim for providing the information that has helped to pinpoint why some of you have been receiving mail failure no recipient address messages. So far the common elements appear to be

You are running in pay mode

You have a listing fee option of $0.00.

You are having this problem when posting an ad under this listing fee option

( If you’re having the mail failure no recipient address issue but you’re not running in pay mode with a $0.00 listing fee plan or otherwise are not having the problem under the conditions described please let me know). For now this is being treated as a bug related to these specific conditions.

A bug has indeed been found under these conditions. The system is not receiving the ad ID so it fails to retrieve all the other information and does in fact attempt to send an email with no recipient address.

The bug is being fixed and the fixed file will be uploaded for download. It will be updated in the core but a new version update will not be released around it.

Earlier suggestions that this might be related to the use of an email address not associated with your server should be ignored in this specific case where you are getting mail failure no recipient address messages with text including:

A message that you sent contained no recipient addresses, and therefore no
delivery could be attempted.
