Cannot presently say with 100% certainty as this has not been tested; however, were you to rename the plugin folder to another-wordpress-classifieds-plugin-2 and edit the file awpcp.php to change the table names to awpcp_ads2, awpcp_adsettings2, awpcp_categories2 and so on, you might be able to successfully run two instances of the plugin. Possible issues could arise with activation and deactivation, uninstalling and anything else that might cross over from one instance to another. You would in all likelihood have php errors due to re-declaring functions so you would have to change function names to avoid that problem.

Basically running multiple instances of the plugin off the same WP installation is not possible out of the box and the process involved in getting it to “possibly” work will not be quick and easy. It would be simpler to install a second copy of WordPress and run the plugin with the second WP installation.

If anyone has managed to get multiple instances of the plugin to run off the same WP installation please feel free to share for the benefit of those wanting to know if it can be done.

I have installed the module and it appears at www.reiblogger.com/classifieds However, when I click on Place An Ad, Edit an Existing Ad, Browse Ads and Search Ads, the right columns refresh but nothing happens. I can’t post anything.

I have setup and checked the configuration settings numerous times thinking I missed something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think this feature is unneccessary complication in the case of my site as I’d rather just have them register.

Admin Answers:

The plugin is not integrated with wordpress in a way that would make it possible for your users to manage their ads without the access code. It would be possible I suppose to do an integration so that the plugin uses the wp registration information but I can’t estimate when I will have the opportunity to add this ability.

I’m looking into using this plugin on a site I’m developping. I was wondering if there was any way to modify the form users have to fill when submitting a new ad. I know you have options in the admin area concerning whether the plugin should display form elements and toggles them on and off. I’m looking for something a little more complex, ie actually adding new input elements.

I don’t mind playing with the code a bit, but I’ve looked through the plugin files and I can’t seem to find anything. It seems to me like the form itself is created in the awpcp.php file, but there are references to form elements all over the place.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

Break down of the array values

  • The first array value should be the number of items you want to show
  • The second array value is the title you want to use
  • The third array value (shown empty here) is the code that precedes the widget, such as an opening div class reference
  • The fourth array value (shown empty here) is the code that closes the widget, such as an closing div class reference
  • The fifth array value is the code that precedes the title (using the opening <h2> header element here).
  • The sixth array value is the code that closes the title (using the closing </h2> header element here).

I had some plugin conflicts and deactivated/activated this plugin a few times and had too many classifieds pages. Your plugin let me know (awesome feature by the way) and I clicked the button to fix it and it seemed fine. How should I get around this?
