Version 1.0.6 of Another WordPress Classifieds Plugin has finally been released. As always, please backup your database and files before you update your copy of the plugin. If after updating you are having problems you were not having before please post a report in the form of a comment to this post.
What’s new in Version 1.0.6
There is nothing new in Version 1.0.6 except that it is optimized for use with the Extra Fields Module. Nothing has been structurally changed. There have been some bug fixes as reported below:
- BUG FIX:* The problem with the reply-to link in emails ( the “to” is joined to the email address so you have something like reply toemail@address.xxx
- BUG FIX: * Some people are having problems with the Delete Ad link where users cannot delete their ads. Delete link changed to button to pass data in more reliable manner.
- BUG FIX: Pager bug created problem for admins using default permalink structure whereby they could not navigate beyond page 1 of their view listings page
- BUG FIX:* Admin image management cleaned up a bit. There were some problems where after you deleted a picture from the admin it did not reload the pictures but reported “no images found”. This was because of a problem in the pager. The Delete/Approve/Disable links are now buttons to better transfer data for processing.

Alert: It cannot be stressed enough the importance of backing up your database and files before updating your copy of Another WordPress Classifieds Plugin. Please abide by the ounce of prevention rule so that, in the event of any problems, you will be able to restore your files and data.
Wonderful plugin, we were waiting for it since 3 years!
I noticed that the classified form doesn’t recognize the e-mail extensions different from the classical com, it, co.uk, etc. For example, most of our affiliates have a xxx@puntoacapo.info mail, but they can’t post the classifieds because the system says that the e-mail address is uncorrect. How can I fix this bug?

Another thing: I’ve just updated the plugin, and the sidebar widget doesn’t work correctly. It has lost the theme widget design and it’s bigger than all the other text in the pages. You can see it here: http://www.puntoacapo.info. I’ve moved it in the bottom of the page, because it’s very ‘ugly’ in this appearence, waiting to have it like before.

About the “reply to” bug that was fixed, is it possible to have the email of the user in the header of the email? Either as “sender” or “Reply to”.
A lot of my users are just clicking “Reply” without reading, sending the email to the webmaster (me ! )
Francesca, the widget should be using your default setting for sidebar widgets. Do you have a “widgets” class defined in your theme stylesheet?
can not see the page 2 the category one!
Like Francesca I have the same issues with the widget styling. I have several classes defined in the stylesheet (other widgets/plugins are in style). AWPCP is the only one that doesn’t pick it up.

I had everything working fine then this popped up:
Fatal error: Table ‘mysite_adsn1.wp_posts’ doesn’t exist in /home/mysite/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/another-wordpress-classifieds-plugin/awpcp.php on line 875
Can anyone give me some advice? I uninstalled and re-installed and I get the same error.

Very nice plug in.
On changeing the browse-categories page to browse-adverts, the page is not deleted and recreated so the perma-link and name are wrong and links don’t work.
Manual change resolves poroblem thought you would like to know.

Just a small bug to report: When setting up the first classified ad, and attempting to upload an image, several errors appeared because the uploads directory hadn’t been created yet because my website is so new.
I seem to have lost the option to edit my text on the main page and need to make changes urgenly, I used to be able to access it through the Plugin editor but it is unavailable now. Any suggestions?

I’m having problems using awpcp plugin. I’ve installed this plugin, run a setup (changed all texts to russian language) and… nothing. The only thing I see are my pages + 1 new page saying in Russian “Classifieds”. When I click it I see just the text Classifieds and no ads. I saw additional pages created by your plugin, but they aren’t showed in my theme (iGreat) (again, if I click them threw admin panel to see how do they look like, I see only text – no ads or categories). I’ve tried to change [AWPCPCLASSIFIEDSUI] to [[AWPCPCLASSIFIEDSUI]], to change the language back to English or update permalinks and got nothing. I’m running wordpress 2.8.7.
Would you be so kind and advice me how to fix this issue?

Vlad, how do I identify which page is your classifieds on your site?
Katharina, it is unclear what exactly you need to edit. By “edit my text on the main page” what aspect of the classifieds do you mean? If the welcome message, when you say you have lost that option can you please explain? The option has not been removed from the plugin. Have you recently upgraded from using a version earlier than 1.5.6?

Hakon, that was the way it was at first but too many users were having trouble with their server not wanting to process the email unless the address in the FROM field was associated with the server. Will try to set it up to make this a modifiable field from the admin so that those who don’t have the restriction and prefer it to be the address of the person replying to the ad can set it up that way. Not sure how soon that will be available.

Great plugin … one little bug in that you can’t write text that with appostrophes eg it’s, you’re, etc. Or use quotation marks eg – ‘magic’.
Lots of back slashes appear.
I’ve tried with html turned on and off … less back slashes with html on, but there all the same.

Ok, found the option – no worries I was looking at the wrong place.
Another problem though, the font on the http://ragdoll-kittens.com.au/kittens-for-sale/place-ad page is blown out of porportion when you login to place an add, not sure where to look to fix the problem. You can login with test test to view error. Hope you can point me in the right direction.
Vlad, it is difficult to handle this remotely as I cannot guess what the problem is. I need to be able to access in order to investigate.
Katharina, can you provide some info on exactly at which point in the place ad form the font is being blown out of proportion?
