Contact Path

If you have the plugin running in Search Engine Friendly Urls mode, you might need to adjust the path value the system uses to properly configure the contact form. If you are having issues with the contact email not going out, the first thing you should check is the contact path value.

To check the contact path value

First use the chart and example URL below to determine the correct path value for your website. The correct path value is the location where the ad ID appears in your SEF URl.

Example URL: http://www.awpcp.com/classifieds/reply-to-ad/36/4-Dolce–Gabanna-dresses-for-sale/

When checking the location, start counting at zero[0] starting with the value that follows the first slash after the main part of your domain name. Use the chart below you can see that the corect path value for the contact page on awpcp.com is two [2].

So you have determined your path value. Now you need to check to see if the the system is using the right value. Follow these steps to check if the system is using the right value:

Log into your WP dashboard

Click on the “Classifieds” button

Click either “Settings” or “Manage General Options”

Click the  “Seo Settings” option from the list of links at the top of the page

Locate the option below:

If contact page link not working in seo mode change value until correct path is found. Start at 1

If the value entered does not match your actual path value, change it to your actual path value.

Now the system should receive the correct ad ID value. Without the correct ad ID value the contact email will not work. The system will appear to process the email, but you will receive a mail failure  notification with a message that the email you attempted to send had no recipient email address.
