Main Classifieds Page
The main classifieds page is the entry page to the classifieds system. On this site, if you go to http://www.awpcp.com/classifieds, you will be on the main classifieds entry page for the demo copy of Another Worpdress Classifieds Plugin that is installed on this website.
You can choose any name for your classifieds entry page.
When the system creates your classifieds entry page, it will insert an entry into your wp_posts table for the page. It will also store the page name in the awpcp_pagename table that is created on installation. The system refers to the entry in the awpcp_pagename table to retrieve the name of your classifieds page in order to process the various instructions it will receive while your classifieds is running so it is important that the name of the page as entered into awpcp_pagename matches the name of the page in your wp_posts table.
The shortcode used in the main classifieds entry page is [AWPCPCLASSIFIEDSUI] In some earlier versions of the plugin the shortcode was [[AWPCPCLASSIFIEDSUI]]. As of version 1.0.5.6 [[AWPCPCLASSIFIEDSUI]] will no longer work.
In default mode your main classifieds page will either display your categories or your ad listings depending on if you have the below option checked or unchecked
Main page layout [ check for ad listings ] [ Uncheck for categories ]
With the option checked your classifieds entry page will display your ad listings by default. Unchecked it will display your ad categories by default.
what if there already exists a page (name)you want to use for the entry page…does it need to be renamed or deleted?

You need to use unique names for classified categories. They are WP pages, just like any other.

2 things.
1 – I really want to use this plugin but the database warning scares me. Is this the MySQL DB or the wp-content (folder) to be backed up? I suspect it’s the MySQL. I back up both but what scares me is I’m not sure how to recover/restore the MySQL DB…or how I’d know the DB had been corrupted. I use FTP to manage the WP site content.
2 – Is there a video or doc on the above and on the AWPCP install?

Great plugin. I just installed it today. The icon module looks tempting …. waiting to just settle the plugin into my site.
How do I organize the display of the columns on the main page? If you see http://inmydelhi.com/classifieds , you would notice that the columns are very close to each other. How can I increase the distance between them?
