Ad expiration

You can setup ads to expire automatically based on the ad term length (if running in pay mode) or based on your decision of how long to keep ads in the system ( if running in free mode ).

Free mode ad expiration

In free mode, to force ads to expire automatically after a certain length of time go to your classifieds admin options page. This page can be reached either by clicking “Settings” under the Classifieds menu or by clicking “Manage General Options” from the Classifieds default page. Once on your admin options page, click “Ad/Listing Settings” and fill in the option:

Expire free ads after how many days? [0 for no expiry]

Whatever you change zero[0] to, the ads in the system will be deleted after that number of days. (The option to decide if to delete or just disable expired ads will be added, however this option is not currently available. With a value set for auto expiration, ads will be deleted in full after that number of days. If you don’t want ads to automatically expire, leave the value set to zero[0].

Pay mode ad expiration

termdurationAd expiration in paid mode depends on the number of days set in the particular fee plan.

If  for example you have a pay plan with settings $9.99 for a 30 day ad listing, after the 30 days the ad will automatically expire based on the setting associated with that particular ad.

Your default setting for ad expiration when running in free mode as described under Free mode ad expiration, will have no impact on ads in pay mode. In pay mode expiration date is based entirely on the value set in “Term Duration” in the ad listing form (see example image on right)

In example image ad will expire automatically after 30 days.
